Pre-Columbian, Chavin culture c. 400-200 BC. A very nice Chavin small terracotta pot, the body engraved with a wonderful abstract etched geometric pattern. The vessel has a bulbous base and gracefully tapered neck, with dark burnished surfaces. Old excavation tag inked in silver pen on bottom. A very charming piece!
