Ancient Roman Silver Denarius of Geta, 200-202 AD. Geta, Roman emperor from 209-211 AD. Beautiful silver denarius, struck 200-202 AD, Rome mint. The front depicts the youthful bust of the emperor, bare-headed and draped, facing right, Latin inscription P SEPT GETA CAES PONT. The back depicts Geta (as a prince), in military attire, standing facing left, holding branch and spear, trophy of shields and arms behind. Coin reference: RSC 157, Sear 7196 for type. Set into a custom .925 silver bezel and 20" Italian silver chain. Bezel diameter 1 inch. Ex Los Angeles, CA private collection.
