Ancient Egypt, Ptolemaic period, c. 332-30 BC. A rare fragment of a faience plaque or vessel depicting the head and upper body of the goddess Isis. Traces of cow-hide patterning visible on the back, which along with the burned areas indicate the method it was made so many thousands of years ago. 4 ancient holes were drilled in antiquity, likely to be worn as a pendant or pectoral.
