Pre-Columbian, Chavin culture c. 400-200 BC. A very nice Chavin small terracotta pot, the body engraved with a wonderful abstract etched geometric pattern. The vessel has a bulbous base and gracefully tapered neck, with dark burnished surfaces. H: 3”, W: 2.75”. Ex New York City private collection, purchased at Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL prior to 1970. A very charming piece!
