Product Description

Boxing has had its fair share of legends and icons, but one man brought a whole new dimension to the sport that no other man before him was able to reach. Michael Gerard Tyson is feared by most for his power, strength, eccentricity, and expeditious style of victory. Given the nickname "Baddest Man on the Planet," he certainly lived up to his given name. Still, to this day, his legend lives on, and he is as popular as he has ever been throughout his career. Inscriptagraphs is proud to announce Tyson Vs., the first of its kind featuring and highlighting every monumental fight throughout Mike's illustrious career. This collection gives a unique take on Mike's career by capturing the good and the bad, wins and losses, triumphs and failures, all through his handwritten words, expressions, and signature.

This photo showcases Mike Tyson from his fight against Peter McNeeley on August 19, 1995, where Tyson ends up winning via DQ as McNeeley's manager entered the ring in the middle of the fight for obvious reasons, as seen in the photo shown. This photo is dual-signed by Mike and Peter and inscribed pretty much all over the image. Tyson's hand wrote on the pictures, "Medfield & Love You, Peter," & McNeeley hand wrote, "I tried wrapping Tyson in my Cocoon of Horror," as well as his fight record "47-7 & 36 KO's) (knockouts).

McNeeley, who is from Medfield, Massachusetts, put the town on blast right before he walked into the ring to fight Tyson. Hence, Tyson referred to the town name in the inscription. As far as "Love You Peter" goes, Tyson had many knockdowns throughout the fight, which only lasted through the 1st round. Also, when signing this photo, Mike respects Peter and loves him as a great opponent and his dear friend. As for McNeeley, he made a beautiful poem expressing his thoughts on the fight and what he planned on doing to Tyson in the fight. He told Tyson he would "Wrap him up in his cocoon." This, , did not happen n,, but Peter is a great sport and admitted in his handwriting that he tried to do it but failed. Then again, we credit him for going up against the Baddest Man on The Planet.

When we conducted our signing with Peter, he let us know he rarely (and he can count the times all on the one hand) has ever signed anything that Tyson already signed, let alone anything on this level with all the inscriptions and all. If you want a rare piece with a great story, you have it here; only ten exist.
